Your Reliable Partner
in Asbestos Analysis and Removal
Eco Marine Solutions offers you reliable detection, analysis and removal services in the presence of asbestos in ships, buildings and different environments.

Asbestos Removal and Inspection
Asbestos has been used for many years in building materials, ships, industrial plants and various products due to its resistance to abrasion and chemicals. However, its use also brings diseases. We provide Asbestos reports for you and ensure that you take precautions.

IHM Audit and IHM Preparation
IHM is an important part of ship management and should not be ignored to ensure the safety of the environment, crew and passengers on board. Ships are exposed to a wide range of hazardous substances both in their construction and in their operation. Minimize your losses by having an IHM audit.

Radiation Measurement Procedures
Radiation is an issue that can be caused by natural or industrial processes and poses risks to health and the environment. Determining the level of radiation on ships, in industrial facilities or in transported cargo is of great importance to identify potential hazards and take the necessary precautions.
Ecomar provides independent testing, auditing and consultancy services to identify and control asbestos-related health risks.
Asbestos is a fibrous mineral found in nature and has been used for many years in building materials, ships, industrial plants and various products due to its resistance to heat, abrasion and chemicals. However, inhalation of asbestos fibers carries serious health risks; its use is banned in many countries, especially due to its effects that can lead to lung diseases and cancer. For this reason, asbestos surveys are of great importance, especially in old buildings and ships.

Asbestos testing procedures are carried out by microscopic and chemical analysis methods. Using methods such as polarized light microscopy (PLM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), the presence of asbestos is precisely determined. According to the results obtained, necessary cleaning and disposal procedures are planned. These investigations carried out by expert teams are vital for working safely with asbestos and protecting human health.

IHM Audit and IHM Preparation
The Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) is a comprehensive document that identifies all potentially hazardous substances on board a ship. Latent hazards are identified, located and measured in accordance with IMO Decision guidelines. It replaced the Green Passport required by the Hong Kong International Convention in 2009 and has been required by the EU Ship Recycling Regulation since 2013.
IHM is an important part of ship management and should not be ignored to ensure the safety of the environment, crew and passengers on board. Regulation 5.3 of the Hong Kong Convention states that IHM “shall be maintained and updated as appropriate throughout the operational life of the ship”. Completion of an IHM is only the first step towards compliance. The ship owner is responsible for ensuring that the inventory complies with the regulations.

Radiation Measurement Procedures
Radiation is a form of energy that can originate from natural sources or industrial processes and can pose a risk to human health and the environment. Determining the radiation level in ships, industrial facilities or transported cargoes is of great importance to identify potential hazards and take the necessary precautions. Especially in old ships that will enter the dismantling process, radioactive residues may be found in the materials used or in the past cargo carried by the ship. Therefore, dismantling operations carried out without radiation measurement can pose serious health risks for both workers and the environment.
Radiation measurement techniques are carried out using advanced equipment such as portable radiation detectors, Geiger counters and spectrometric analyzers. During the measurements, the presence of radioactive contamination in different parts of the ship is determined and the levels determined are compared with international safety standards. In addition, ships engaged in cargo transportation are checked whether the material being transported contains radioactive material, ensuring safe transportation processes in import and export.
